Upon his return to Ireland in 2012, Ruairí seamlessly integrated into the vibrant Galway Gaelic football community. He ha represented both Salthill Knocknacarra and Barna GAA clubs, where he has contributed to numerous county championship victories. His success in the sport extends to representing Galway Football at the underage level.

Rowing

Ruairí O'Gorman has actively participated in various regattas, representing his alma mater, Coláiste Iognáid, with unwavering dedication and skill. His involvement has not only honed his rowing prowess but also fostered his leadership qualities, enabling him to coach younger generations of rowers and impart his knowledge and passion for the sport.

Soccer

An ardent supporter of Arsenal and Middlesbrough, Ruairí love for football has transcended geographical boundaries. During his youth in Bahrain, he had the privilege of playing for the Arsenal Academy, instilling in him a deep appreciation for the sport and the club. This passion for football led him to found and play for Rockyshore FC, a team in his hometown of Galway, Ireland. With his unwavering commitment to the game, Ruairí continues to embody the spirit of football, bringing together fellow enthusiasts and fostering a love for the sport that has shaped his life.

Debating

With a passion for intellectual discourse and a natural inclination towards persuasion, Ruairí has actively engaged in the vibrant Galway and Irish debating community. His involvement extends to participating in debate maces around the country, where he has honed his debating skills and gained valuable insights into the intricacies of argumentation. Currently, Ruairí is a proud member of the University of Galway Debate Society.

Radio

Ruairí’s foray into the world of radio began with his co-hosting of a show for Flirt FM, aptly titled Ruairí and Dara's Research and Development, affectionately known as R&D's R&D. The show's concept revolved around a weekly challenge where the hosts would select a topic for each other to research, and then return the following week to present their findings and engage in lively discussions. Despite wrapping up after its second season due to scheduling conflicts, the show left an indelible mark on Ruairí's passion for radio and storytelling, further solidifying his love for connecting with audiences and sharing his knowledge.
