A little about me
My Mantra and Goals
‘It is better to have tried and failed, than never tried at all.’
Participate in the ESTEEM Program as a Naughton Scholar, continuing my journey of discovery in the areas of entrepreneurship and technology. Continuously learn new skills and explore innovative ideas and solutions. Start the best company in the world, with significant socioeconomic impact, while also being a recognized force for good.
Early Life
I was born in Galway, and spent the first half of my life in the magical Kingdom of Bahrain. I returned to Ireland at 11 years old and learnt how cold the sea can really be! I attended St. Christopher’s School Bahrain and Buaile Beag N.S during my primary education.
I later went on to study at Coláiste Iognáid and Yeats College for my secondary level education. Receiving over 500 points in my Leaving Certificate.
During my time at Coláiste Iognáid I had the pleasure of representing the school at the 1916 Centenary celebrations. I also participated in a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, walking the final 100km of the Camino with members of my schools congregaton.
The College Years
Having a passion for technology and entrepreneuship, I decided to study Business Information Systems (BIS) at the University of Galway (formerly NUIG). I am on track to graduate with a first Class honours degree this year.
During my final year of study, I have had the opportuntity to engage with modules catered towards developing entrepreneurial skills. MG3110 Disciplined Entrepreneurship, MG3109 Innovation, Creativity and Enterprise (ICE) and MG2101 Entrepreneurial Venture Development have been excellent courses, and have provided me with a sound base for future entreprenurial adventures.
I have been a part of many different clubs and societies whilst enrolled at the University of Galway. These include, but are not limited to, the Consultants & Entrepreneurs Society, the Computer Society, the Literature and Debate Society, Maths Society, the Surf Club, the Fencing Club and the Mountaineering Club.
Outside of university clubs I am also a member of Barna GAA and Galway Magpie’s Aussie Rules Club.
In 2022, I founded Rockyshore F.C. We currently have over 25 members and have taken part in numerous competitions, most recently the Daniel Megahey Memorial 5 Asides. We are incredibly proud to be the first club to have a female player represent our first team at the Salthill 5 Asides in 2023 (Michelle McDevitt).
